Access to information

The Ministère des Finances is a public body subject to the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the protection of personal information This link opens a new window. (CQLR, chapter A-2.1), under section 3 of the Act. It is also subject to the Regulation respecting the distribution of information and the protection of personal information This link opens a new window. (CQLR, chapter A-2.1, r. 2).

Section 4 of the Regulation sets out the documents and information the Department is required to distribute through its website, insofar as they have been made accessible by the Act respecting access. This requirement is in keeping with the government's pledge to be more transparent.

If you wish to access information that is not available on our website, you may request access to the information by contacting the person in charge of access to documents.

In accordance with subparagraph 3 of section 4 of the Regulation respecting the distribution of information and the protection of personal information, the Department provides the contact information of the person in charge of access to documents.

Requests for access to information can be made by telephone. However, under section 45 of the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information, only a decision rendered in respect of a written request may be submitted for review to the Commission d'Access to information.
