Access to information

The Ministère des Finances is a public body subject to the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the protection of personal information (CQLR, chapter A-2.1), under section 3 of the Act. It is also subject to the Regulation respecting the distribution of information and the protection of personal information (CQLR, chapter A-2.1, r. 2).

Section 4 of the Regulation sets out the documents and information the Department is required to distribute through its website, insofar as they have been made accessible by the Act respecting access. This requirement is in keeping with the government's pledge to be more transparent.

This section of the website gives direct access to documents and information specified in section 4 of the Regulation. We suggest you visit the various content areas to find the information you are looking for.

The Act recognizes an individual's right of access to documents.

If you wish to access information that is not available on our website, you may request access to the information by contacting the person in charge of access to documents.

In accordance with subparagraph 3 of section 4 of the Regulation respecting the distribution of information and the protection of personal information, the Department provides the contact information of the person in charge of access to documents.

Requests for access to information can be made by telephone. However, under section 45 of the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information, only a decision rendered in respect of a written request may be submitted for review to the Commission d'Access to information.
