Fees and terms of payment

The Ministère des Finances determines the fees and terms of payment for applications for and issuance of official documents needed by corporations wishing to obtain or maintain the status of international financial centre (IFC).

IFC Fees

The amount of fees payable is determined according to the date of reception of the application at the Ministère des Finances. By submitting an application, the corporation agrees to pay the related fees by bank transfer within thirty days of receiving the statement of account.

  • The annual contribution (the first contribution or a contribution for subsequent years) is due at the time the application for an annual certificate is sent.
  • The fees for local employees and foreign specialists are the same.

Reinvestment of the sums collected

The sums collected by the Ministère des Finances are deposited in the fund of the Montréal financial centre and are used for the promotion and development of international financial activities in the region.
