Corporate transparency is one of the most effective ways to fight tax evasion and avoidance, money laundering, the financing of criminal activities and fraud.
In the fall of 2019, the government consulted with the public on three initiatives that were based on recommendations made by various recognized international organizations. These three initiatives were:
We would like to thank everyone who participated in the public consultation by sending us a brief. The various comments have deepened the government’s analysis on corporate transparency and will allow us to implement effective initiatives, while striking a balance between greater transparency, the protection of personal information and the administrative burden on individuals and businesses.
