The consultation is now over. The briefs received will be posted on this page. The Department thanks everyone who participated in the consultation.

On June 12, 2015, Minister of Finance Carlos Leitão tabled the Report on the Application of the Real Estate Brokerage Act in the National Assembly. He also announced the launch of a public consultation on the update of the Act.

The report is divided into three parts. First, it presents an overview of the real estate and mortgage brokerage industry in Québec. Then, it revisits the 2008 reform of the Act and examines the changes in the brokerage industry since that year. Lastly, the report discusses the future of regulation of the industry.

Regarding developments in the industry since 2010, the report is intended as a tool for reflection with a view to examining the current legal framework governing real estate and mortgage brokerage.
