Climate change is exerting growing pressure on the environment and is affecting quality of life, health, and the economy.
Québec has set a 37.5% greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction target in 2030 in relation to the 1990 level. It also intends to pursue its longer-term efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
In the context of The 2030 Plan for a Green Economy, Québec has introduced initiatives to fight against climate change and meet its climate targets.
Against this backdrop, the Ministère des Finances du Québec, in collaboration with the Ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs, is analyzing the impacts on the economy and GHG emissions of initiatives to fight against climate change.
